Overview of Treatment for Acneiform Disorders

  • Retinoids
    • Topical and oral
    • Oral retinoids are teratogenic
    • Very useful in acne vulgaris; less so in rosacea unless severe

  • Benzoyl peroxide
    • Useful topically in acne vulgaris

  • Antibiotics
    • Important treatment in rosacea, acne, and peri-orificial dermatitis

  • Antiandrogens
