To all UBC Medical Students:RE: Dermatology
Week and Online Examination
Link to UBC Division of
Dermatology Online Tutorials

All students are encouraged to use self-directed study time to go
through the different teaching modules that have been created.
As in previous years, the examination for the dermatology rotation will be held
"online" via the Internet. Why have we done this?
- An examination which tests visual diagnostic skills is a more accurate method of
evaluation in dermatology
- Allows for improved data collection
- Allows the Division of Dermatology to more easily identify weaknesses in the
undergraduate medical teaching curriculum
- Makes the examination more interesting
The examination is as much a teaching tool, as it is an evaluation tool. You will be
given instant online feedback after completing each module of the examination.
Most of you will already be familiar with the WebCT interface that the
online exam uses.
What you need to
do
- The link to the online exam is at the end of these instructions.
- Your logon and password are the same as your Medicol logon and
passwords.
- The examination consists of 10 modules of 5 questions each (total = 50 questions) + one
feedback section
- You may bring course notes, books, etc. to the examination
- You do not have to complete all ten modules in one session. You can work on the separate
modules over your one week rotation. Note: Once you start a module, you must complete
it!
