Your decision to select an ISP should be based on more than price alone:

• ISP should have a large number of modems available on its end (one ISP modem for every 10 customers)
• fastest modem available is the 56K modem (56 kb/sec)
  • two rival 56K standards, plus a more recent universal standard
  • make sure your 56K modem works with your ISP's 56K modems
• ISP should have help that is prompt and friendly (give the help line a test call)
