The Psoriasis Clinic is 20 years old

Psoriasis Unit StaffVANCOUVER HOSPITAL'S Psoriasis & Phototherapy Clinic is the largest and busiest clinic of its type in Canada! Since it opened its doors in February 1976, the clinic has expanded to meet the increased demand for its services. In 1995 over 43,000 treatment visits were recorded.
The clinic is affiliated with the UBC Division of Dermatology and offers programs that treat and educate patients with common skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema/atopic dermatitis and scleroderma. Treatments like ultraviolet light treatments are used to slow down the growth of skin cells and ease skin irritation. The clinic also provides teaching to residents and medical students and conducts clinical research in psoriasis and photodermatology. Co-directors, Dr. Harvey Lui and Dr. Jerry Shapiro, Clinical Resource Nurses and a receptionist staff the clinic.
The Psoriasis & Phototherapy Clinic (formerly called the Psoriasis Daycare Unit) moved from the old Shaughnessy Site to its new home at Vancouver Hospital in September of 1995. It is now located on the first floor of The Skin Care Centre at 835 West 10th Avenue and is open Monday to Friday, from 0700 to 1900.
