Answer and Commentary _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Melasma usually appears as large tan macules with irregular borders usually on the cheeks, upper lids, and forehead. It is usually found in women who are pregnant or on anovulatory drugs, but may occur idiopathically in women or men with no endocrine abnormality. Exposure to sunlight accentuates the pigmentation.
