A 30 year old woman has had atopic dermatitis since she was a child. She experienced a recurrence of the rash on her hands shortly after giving birth 6 months ago. For the past few days, she has developed oozing and inflamed crusted lesions on certain fingers. You plan to treat her with a topical antibiotic. You will:

a) use an antibiotic cream.



b) use an antibiotic ointment.



c) recommend wet compresses to dry oozing lesions.



d) treat the underlying dermatitis with topical steroids.
