Answer and Commentary _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Perioral dermatitis is a relatively recently described condition which is mostly seen in women. Topical steroids as well as other creams have been implicated in its causation but the nature of this facial rash is still unclear. Although there are reports of the benefit of topical antibiotics in treating perioral dermatitis, the most effective treatment remains systemic tetracyclines which often need to be continued for between 2 and 3 months. ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯
